Algebra is broad part of math in which students learn the symbols and rules for manipulating those symbols.

Geometry is the branch of mathematics concerned with the properties and relations of points, lines, surfaces, solids, and higher dimensional analogs.

Pre-Calculus is designed to introduce students to a variety of topics like trigonometry, conic sections, and more so that they will be ready for Calculus.

Interactive Notebooks

This year, I decided to implement interactive notebooks. These notebooks serve as a way for my students to interact with what I teach them in Algebra, Geometry, or Pre-Calculus. This is the first year that I am using them. As a result, my process is messy and trail-and-error.

Another decision I made this year was to implement Classcraft in my Algebra I & II classes. The random events aside, my juniors took to the classroom management system very well. They are even trying to watch their language so that they can earn 500 XP points. Unfortunately, much to my chagrin, my freshman did not take to it and want to discontinue. I plan on introducing it to my Geometry kids in the new quarter.
